New Season. New Faces.
The season officially gets underway at “The Lab” on Thursday, April 9 as the Isotopes host the Reno Aces as part of an eight-game home stand that includes four games against the Tacoma Raniers. First-year Isotopes Manager Glenallen Hill looks to field a solid team for the Rockies’ new Triple-A affiliate, as the team switches gears since its six-year Pacific Coast League association with the Dodgers has come to an end.
After setting a franchise-record for losses last year and a 14th place finish overall, the new association with the Rockies has everyone in the Duke City hoping that the ‘Topes will return to their winning ways after a disappointing 63-79 2014 season that saw them achieve only fourth place in the PCL’s South Division.
Not only is the ABQ ball club reloaded and recharged for 2015, it’s also sporting a new “I” alternate logo. The new jerseys and hats, emblazoned with the new graphic, are quickly flying off the shelves. The bold and futuristic design will adorn new red home jerseys, which will be worn on all Friday night home games.
Fun for the whole family
When it comes to family fun, nothing beats watching the Isotopes in Isotopes Park, voted one of the best minor-league facilities in baseball. The upcoming season will feature 13 spectacular fireworks shows and 22 giveaway games, with everything from beanies and replica hats to jerseys, mini bats, rally towels, and much more. Plus the ‘Topes zany team mascot, Orbit, will once again be cavorting on the field to the delight of young and old.
